Taylor Swift's '1989 (Taylor's Version)' Sets Spotify Records

Pop sensation Taylor Swift continues to rewrite music history with her latest release, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” breaking her own records and making waves on Spotify.

Swift’s mission to regain control of her music catalog took another remarkable turn as “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” became Spotify’s most-streamed album of 2023, making Swift the most-streamed artist in a single day in the platform’s history.

Originally released in 2014, “1989” included chart-topping hits like “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Bad Blood,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Out of the Woods,” and “New Romantics.” The album earned Swift critical acclaim, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2016 Grammys.

Swift’s influence isn’t limited to her recent endeavors. She also made headlines by topping the music charts with the song “Cruel Summer,” part of her 2019 album “Lover.” This achievement marked her as the first female artist to achieve ten No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and ten No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200.

What’s even more remarkable is that “Cruel Summer” secured its No. 1 position after four years and two months, marking the longest run for a female soloist from a Hot 100 debut to No. 1, excluding holiday songs.

Taylor Swift celebrated this milestone and expressed gratitude to her fans, saying, “We just wanted to say thank you so much for making ‘Cruel Summer’ a Hot 100 No. 1, and it’s not even the summer anymore. It’s deep fall, I’m wearing a sweater. We love you guys.” She shared a video alongside “Cruel Summer” co-writer Jack Antonoff.
