Gigi Hadid, a famous model, shared a post on Instagram talking about supporting Palestinians without it being seen as hating Jewish people or supporting Hamas, a group involved in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
A week ago, Gigi Hadid spoke out against the harm done to innocent people during the Israel-Hamas war. This was after a deadly attack by Hamas in Israel. Since then, many people in Gaza, including children, have suffered due to attacks from Israel. Gigi, who is half-Palestinian, posted an infographic on Instagram, criticizing the confusion between supporting Palestinians and being against Jewish people or supporting Hamas. But the Israeli government did not respond well to her post.

The State of Israel’s official Instagram account replied to Gigi, accusing her of ignoring the harm caused to Jewish babies. They disagreed with her message that criticizing the Israeli government doesn’t mean being against Jewish people. They shared a modified version of her infographic, stating that condemning Hamas is not against Palestine and supporting Israelis fighting against terrorists like Hamas is the right thing to do.
Gigi Hadid had previously shared a long statement expressing her empathy for Palestinians without wanting harm to come to anyone, including Jewish people. She emphasized that she supports a free Palestine but does not support hurting innocent people. Gigi’s younger sister, Bella Hadid, also supports the Palestinian cause but has not commented on the current situation.
